<span style="color: purple;">Fairy Wings</span></h2>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: purple;"><span style="color: red;">Yesterday I met the cutest little girl at work, she was all dressed up and told me that it was her birthday. I was taken with this little princess and thought it would be nice to make her a card. I don't get the opportunity to make girly cards too often, so this was going to be fun. Here is what I created. </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UJPmSHgTwp4/UhoC20FJD4I/AAAAAAAAGDc/z3eThC1VVAk/s1600/IMG_0853+%2528480x640%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UJPmSHgTwp4/UhoC20FJD4I/AAAAAAAAGDc/z3eThC1VVAk/s640/IMG_0853+%2528480x640%2529.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made the wings using the following techniques. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red;"><strong>Step 1</strong></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mix <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers.htm">Terri Sproul Mixers</a> onto a non-stick mat and let dry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBC8p805zks/UhoD_wdZ1nI/AAAAAAAAGEY/x77PAUuEbww/s1600/IMG_0848+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBC8p805zks/UhoD_wdZ1nI/AAAAAAAAGEY/x77PAUuEbww/s320/IMG_0848+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bQdDcRbcfYU/UhoEBIaPI-I/AAAAAAAAGEk/uj7cpO1XnYM/s1600/IMG_0849+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bQdDcRbcfYU/UhoEBIaPI-I/AAAAAAAAGEk/uj7cpO1XnYM/s320/IMG_0849+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
<strong><span style="color: red;">Step 2</span></strong></div>
<div align="center">
Once the mixers were dry I placed them behind the wire formed shaped wings I made.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvMUesCo8kY/UhoECpD8ETI/AAAAAAAAGEs/3UUMss0J82k/s1600/IMG_0850+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvMUesCo8kY/UhoECpD8ETI/AAAAAAAAGEs/3UUMss0J82k/s320/IMG_0850+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: red;">Step 3</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I filled the wire wings with <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm">3D Crystal Lacquer</a> and let this dry. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-haBDH7LVFls/UhoEC1sn20I/AAAAAAAAGE0/V786SuN0g3k/s1600/IMG_0851+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-haBDH7LVFls/UhoEC1sn20I/AAAAAAAAGE0/V786SuN0g3k/s320/IMG_0851+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: red;"> Step 4</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once the wings were dried completely, I was able to snip away any excess mixers from around the wire edge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red;"><strong>Step 5</strong></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped my fairy image and colored her with Terri Sproul Mixers and Copic markers. The mixers left a beautiful sheen to the fairy. And of course what would a fairy be without a little glitter, exactly, so I added some glitter to her crown.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wlypYsHI_cU/UhoD_mvOH0I/AAAAAAAAGEc/02LLOMwb5_M/s1600/IMG_0847+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wlypYsHI_cU/UhoD_mvOH0I/AAAAAAAAGEc/02LLOMwb5_M/s320/IMG_0847+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: red;">Step 6</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used pop dots and double sided sticky tape to adhere my fairy to the front of my card and to keep the wire wings in place.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tbfDL1CicUE/UhoEDSNk4TI/AAAAAAAAGFA/TDuNPxmBsmc/s1600/IMG_0852+%2528480x640%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tbfDL1CicUE/UhoEDSNk4TI/AAAAAAAAGFA/TDuNPxmBsmc/s320/IMG_0852+%2528480x640%2529.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The finished result of this card looks so beautiful and I know this little five year old is going to love her card. I love the fact that I can make more of these cards. However, I will need to make or find a castle image. The one I used was chipboard and I can't replace it, but I was happy to use it up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you don't own any of the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/index.htm">Sakura Hobby Craft</a> products yet, what are you waiting for? I use them all the time and will continue to find many uses for them. This month when you make a purchase at <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/index.htm">http://www.sakuracraft.com/index.htm</a> you can use the code <span style="color: blue;"><strong>Aug08 </strong></span><span style="color: black;">and receive 20% off your entire order. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'd like to thank Sakura Hobby Crafts and Terri Sproul for allowing me to work with and share my creations over that past 6 months. I've had a wonderful time getting to know everyone, I've learned so many new ideas and gained a wider audience. For me this whole experience has been very joyful and filled with magical moments. I've loved every single piece I've worked on, but I wanted to share one of my favorites. Of course it has to be my mini garden album, because it utilized many techniques and lots of color. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bEenxkUBIPs/UhZiDEWCtsI/AAAAAAAABxo/1wQAIzOfgL4/s1600/SDC11518.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bEenxkUBIPs/UhZiDEWCtsI/AAAAAAAABxo/1wQAIzOfgL4/s320/SDC11518.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hi there today I would like to share with you my final projects for the Sakura Hobby Craft Design Team and how I used Color Crystal Lacquer Five different ways!</div>
<br />
Today I am creating embellishments. The first way I used the colored lacquer is to pour it into molds.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aUux2aXPyJA/UhZi3wPcqZI/AAAAAAAABxw/eCDTpCBc0OA/s1600/SDC11027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aUux2aXPyJA/UhZi3wPcqZI/AAAAAAAABxw/eCDTpCBc0OA/s320/SDC11027.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I had some Wilton molds for cake making and I thought it would be fun to see how the lacquer would work. I tested a few ways and the best method I found was to lay a foundation of Clear Crystal Lacquer down first and let stand to get sticky before adding my Colored Lacquer and finishing off with yet another layer of Clear Lacquer. This method worked best and I let this set for about two days before attempting to remove them.<br />
Different temperatures and climates will determine drying time.<br />
Here are the finished embellishments of a red rose , green leaf and a gold fleur de lis.. Perfect!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vgTzW5Dq3lo/UhZjN1Xj8hI/AAAAAAAABx4/DUbPEfN-X34/s1600/SDC11503.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vgTzW5Dq3lo/UhZjN1Xj8hI/AAAAAAAABx4/DUbPEfN-X34/s320/SDC11503.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Next, I used gold color lacquer to color a pillar I made out of corrugated cardboard. Since the color lacquers came with a pen like tip it was very easy to add shine and pearly gold to my hand made pillar ready for my layout.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Gy52jwPRIH0/UhZkAs0IgjI/AAAAAAAAByE/7qWmP2GDZuA/s1600/SDC11505.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Gy52jwPRIH0/UhZkAs0IgjI/AAAAAAAAByE/7qWmP2GDZuA/s320/SDC11505.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Then I decided to play with bottle caps. The first one I added some color lacquers (Blue and Pink) to the inside of my bottle cap (used bottle cap from beer). I filled the bottom only and let the colors blend naturally. I set that aside to dry. The second bottle cap I decided to flatten out with my Sizzix Big Shot. **Note: this will cause your plates to be cut** I would recommend placing a shim on both sides of the cap to prevent this from happening. I placed some Color Lacquer in strips and proceeded to use a toothpick to swirl the colors into each other.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RCgCcxYcbcg/UhZkiMLir1I/AAAAAAAAByM/LTMYHaByqf4/s1600/SDC11502.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RCgCcxYcbcg/UhZkiMLir1I/AAAAAAAAByM/LTMYHaByqf4/s320/SDC11502.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I loved it! and decided to punch a hole into the top of the flattened bottle cap with my Cropadile Big bite. I also colored the edges with a black Copic marker and added a ball chain.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The second bottle cap (not flattened) could be used for a pendant as it matches the necklace. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whalla recycled bottle caps into jewelry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_ZevqvYOYug/UhZlhENG6LI/AAAAAAAAByY/DZ0TqNt-k3s/s1600/SDC11507.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_ZevqvYOYug/UhZlhENG6LI/AAAAAAAAByY/DZ0TqNt-k3s/s320/SDC11507.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KmL_E6yutdk/UhZmAp63krI/AAAAAAAAByg/PJH-Z03KBxo/s1600/SDC11511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KmL_E6yutdk/UhZmAp63krI/AAAAAAAAByg/PJH-Z03KBxo/s320/SDC11511.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Next, I found some weird looking washers in my husbands garage. They reminded me of steampunk so I had to put some together for an upcoming project. I used Gold and Silver Pearl Color Lacquer. I colored the outsides and let dry. I also thought it would be fun to add a broken piece of colored lacquer from test done on the molds. It was an owl that didn't quite turn out when trying to take it out of the mold.. I never throw anything away so I decided to use it too! I glued the whole lot together with E6000 glue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GgV2eLTcS_M/UhZmZ7mcwVI/AAAAAAAAByo/JnAsvNrvAzk/s1600/SDC11501.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GgV2eLTcS_M/UhZmZ7mcwVI/AAAAAAAAByo/JnAsvNrvAzk/s320/SDC11501.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Awesome Right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PDbr7T77WiA/UhZmr3_5PFI/AAAAAAAAByw/oSGw0HeHJOo/s1600/SDC11506.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PDbr7T77WiA/UhZmr3_5PFI/AAAAAAAAByw/oSGw0HeHJOo/s320/SDC11506.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly I decided to color a domino. First I stamped the domino with a dragon fly stamp with Stazon ink.<br />
then I added some color with the colored lacquer. Here I used Blue and Pink. I think the possibilities here are endless! This could very easily be a key chain or hung as a pendant!. I am definitely going to play some more ....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SAY5mQmep7o/UhZnEIEoVBI/AAAAAAAABy4/tw3zon7ifoU/s1600/SDC11504.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SAY5mQmep7o/UhZnEIEoVBI/AAAAAAAABy4/tw3zon7ifoU/s320/SDC11504.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think this would make a great key chain!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_LhQAZgqezQ/UhZnXqxH5dI/AAAAAAAABzA/1J88L2VnJXs/s1600/SDC11515.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_LhQAZgqezQ/UhZnXqxH5dI/AAAAAAAABzA/1J88L2VnJXs/s320/SDC11515.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Coloring with 3D Crystal Lacquer fine line pens can color both big areas and outline in small. Here is a card using both 3D Crystal Lacquer fine line pens and Terri Sproul's Mixers - Ultra Fine Glitter.<br />
<br />
After using the fine line pens, sprinkle a little Ultra Fine Glitter before the lacquer dries. The glitter will only stick to the lacquer. When dry, tap off excess glitter.<br />
<br />
Design, collage image as you would do to create a birthday card.<br />

<a href="http://daleannepotter.com/" target="_blank">Dale</a> here, with my final DT project. THANK YOU to Sakura Hobby Craft, Terri Sproul and the whole DT for a LOVELY experience.<br />
<br />
As I have stated before, I enjoy shopping at thrift stores. When I see old unloved books, I usually bring the real sad ones home. I can use the pages for collage, or art journaling or make into paper fabric.<br />
The book covers sometimes are falling off and that is where this week's project originated.<br />
<br />
A set of book covers (sorry forgot to take photos right at the start) that I gessoed, then added all kinds of chipboard or textural embellishments with gel medium. I let them dry completely then gessoed the whole cover again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ay3w8cMMXpc/Ug-qk3K7qKI/AAAAAAAAFss/7ahdPpPa16g/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ay3w8cMMXpc/Ug-qk3K7qKI/AAAAAAAAFss/7ahdPpPa16g/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is where the FUN of 3D Crystal Lacquer and all the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers/Jewel-Effects-and-Shimmer-Mica-Color-Set.htm" target="_blank">Terri Sproul Mixers</a> comes in. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hW_Qwc6Obzs/Ug-qp5lUpBI/AAAAAAAAFs0/jsEJ7LlsRrs/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hW_Qwc6Obzs/Ug-qp5lUpBI/AAAAAAAAFs0/jsEJ7LlsRrs/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers2.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I put a blob of <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/3D-Crystal-Lacquer--Clear.htm" target="_blank">3D Crystal lacquer</a> onto my palette in 6 areas, then added the Mixers and mixed well. I, then, painted the areas on the book covers that I wanted with the bright colours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RbvNMD4KmLg/Ug-rCFmhd1I/AAAAAAAAFs8/UD4yd9FQe74/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RbvNMD4KmLg/Ug-rCFmhd1I/AAAAAAAAFs8/UD4yd9FQe74/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers3.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Any leftover mixed 3D Crystal Lacquer/Mixer I painted on all the other areas, then used a baby wipe to rub off so it was a faded look. Then, I cover the whole front and back covers with a layer of 3D Crystal Lacquer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NzEQ9Aa4OSY/Ug-rby7nYuI/AAAAAAAAFtE/faTGjKeJJp0/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NzEQ9Aa4OSY/Ug-rby7nYuI/AAAAAAAAFtE/faTGjKeJJp0/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers4.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The coating of 3D Crystal lacquer made the covers more durable I think.<br />
I added a hairband with a brad to the back cover, then used duct tape to make a centre binding (2 layers) before gluing thick scrapbook paper to the inside covers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zt_nTOkEt_8/Ug-rcMdL-wI/AAAAAAAAFtY/jYRDfCDTAeA/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zt_nTOkEt_8/Ug-rcMdL-wI/AAAAAAAAFtY/jYRDfCDTAeA/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers6.jpg" width="276" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I had a few sewn pages left from another journal, so I added plain copy paper (2 signatures) inside the 3 already sewn up pages and took them to the sewing machine. I set the stitch length longer than normal so it wouldn't tear the pages and slowly sewed thru all the layers. Because of the duct tape, you will have to toss the needle after as the glue builds up on the needle.<br />
To the front cover, I tied one of the bezel fobs to the hairband.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-orE6fjL5Yjk/Ug-szxfhOkI/AAAAAAAAFto/xR73Hx8fWpc/s1600/EmbellishedBookCovers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-orE6fjL5Yjk/Ug-szxfhOkI/AAAAAAAAFto/xR73Hx8fWpc/s320/EmbellishedBookCovers.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>

<br />
I got a cute treasure chest charm on a chain and thought it would be fun to put some Crystal Lacquer treasure into it.<br />
<br />
Here’s the charm:<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7e674970b-pi"><img alt="Treasure chest (800x600)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7e674970b" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7e674970b-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Treasure chest (800x600)" /></a><br />
It opens up like this:<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac873f8c970d-pi"><img alt="Treasure chest open (800x600)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac873f8c970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac873f8c970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Treasure chest open (800x600)" /></a><br />
I partially filled the chest with clear <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm" target="_self">Crystal Lacquer</a>. I added some gold Crystal Lacquer with one of Sakura’s <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/Metallic--Pearl--3-Color--Pen-Style-Applicators.htm" target="_self">Pen Style Applicators</a>. <br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019104bdd315970c-pi"><img alt="Treasure chest with Crystal Lacquer (800x547)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019104bdd315970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019104bdd315970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Treasure chest with Crystal Lacquer (800x547)" /></a><br />
Then I sprinkled gold glitter over that.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac8742fc970d-pi"><img alt="Treasure chest with glitter (800x600)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac8742fc970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac8742fc970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Treasure chest with glitter (800x600)" /></a><br />
When the Crystal Lacquer started to set up, I shook off the extra glitter, then added some “jewels” with the other Pen Style Applicators. Finally, I added some crystal clear glitter while the “jewels” were still wet.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7eb5c970b-pi"><img alt="Treasure chest with jewels 2 (600x800)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7eb5c970b" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901ec7eb5c970b-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Treasure chest with jewels 2 (600x800)" /></a><br />
Won’t this be fun for a fan of <em>Pirates of the Caribbean</em> to wear? Or for Barbie on a hunt for buried treasure? <br />
<br />
I hope this will inspire you to transform plain objects into something special!<br />

<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
What my desire was when I started creating this piece, was to use up my <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/terri-sprouls-mixer.htm">Terri Sproul Mixers</a> <span style="color: black;">chips. Now these chips were made over many months, but could be made in an hour. They are the leftovers of Mixers and <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm">3D Crystal Lacquer</a> that were stuck on my work mat at the end of every project. I peeled them off and saved them, hoping for an idea to come together to use them. Thus the following project was the perfect time to use some of these chips up. At the start of this project I had no idea what direction I would go in. I let this piece create itself. I know that sounds weird. But my only starting point was the tile and the chips. I just let the creativity flow after that. I hope you like it.</span></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zDorSCNvvVU/UgaFrX50Q-I/AAAAAAAAGAo/aCBdCpjgDa4/s1600/IMG_0835+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zDorSCNvvVU/UgaFrX50Q-I/AAAAAAAAGAo/aCBdCpjgDa4/s320/IMG_0835+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took a domino tile and started layering on the paint chips. Now I'm really glad I did it this way, because if I had just painted on the colors, I would have had to wait for each color to dry or I would have had some blended colors. Blah, I didn't want that! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the 3D Crystal Lacquer to adhere the chips to the tile.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jPFUMUHAzbg/UgaFsOZ3pUI/AAAAAAAAGAw/9ltDGOgR2iM/s1600/IMG_0836+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jPFUMUHAzbg/UgaFsOZ3pUI/AAAAAAAAGAw/9ltDGOgR2iM/s320/IMG_0836+(640x480).jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-45XoKtLKAiY/UgaFsfaoJoI/AAAAAAAAGA4/v-lsIOGdu1g/s1600/IMG_0837+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-45XoKtLKAiY/UgaFsfaoJoI/AAAAAAAAGA4/v-lsIOGdu1g/s320/IMG_0837+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I had the chips where I wanted them and everything was dry, I started putting on my rub-ons. I did try to use rubber stamps and Stazon ink, but I found the rub-ons were much easier to use. And had a crisper image.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMzvkiHb2N4/UgaFt_Zuo1I/AAAAAAAAGBA/-bJ_1KFVfzM/s1600/IMG_0838+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MMzvkiHb2N4/UgaFt_Zuo1I/AAAAAAAAGBA/-bJ_1KFVfzM/s320/IMG_0838+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the 3D Crystal Lacquer to attach the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/Bails.htm">necklace bail.</a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgU5F6Qfoj4/UgaFt5A4y9I/AAAAAAAAGBI/3d8Rzg3ab24/s1600/IMG_0839+(480x640).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgU5F6Qfoj4/UgaFt5A4y9I/AAAAAAAAGBI/3d8Rzg3ab24/s320/IMG_0839+(480x640).jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm very happy with the result of this pendant. It holds a lot of meaning to me and will ever be a reminder of the life I've led for 18 yrs. I do want to sand some edges and smooth this out a bit more. I will add a couple more layers of the 3D Crystal Lacquer to finish it completely. </div>

<br />
I am a long-time lover of thrift stores, and this past week, my Mom wanted to pay the local one a visit. We didn't know it was $2 a bag clothing day or we might have passed on that day. Anyway, it was a treasure trove of goodies.<br />
<br />
I ENJOY turning thrift store finds into something LOVELY, either for myself or as a gift to someone else.<br />
<br />
One of the items I found this past week was this is a heavy glass chair glider - it was put under the leg of a chair so the chair could easily glide over the floor. There was only one of these dark brown heavy glass so it was something I thought I could buy just 1 of without feeling that I wrecked a set. It is 3 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch high.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TqT8edL4SQU/Uf0hDSS3tmI/AAAAAAAAFrk/H35rpJFkod4/s1600/PaperWeight1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TqT8edL4SQU/Uf0hDSS3tmI/AAAAAAAAFrk/H35rpJFkod4/s320/PaperWeight1.jpg" width="290" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I washed the glider, sanded off some of the grunge that didn't come off with the soap & water. Let dry. I thought this would make a LOVELY paperweight for those times when I am out on the front porch and trying to keep my papers from blowing away (here in Saskatchewan, it seems its always breezy).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I printed off a photo of my website button, cut it into a circle to fit inside the glider. I added alittle 3D Crystal Lacquer to the glider first, then the photo on top and I found a tiny container of glitter in one of my drawers so thought I'd add to the areas where there was white showing on the photo paper. I added about a 1/4 inch of 3D Crystal Lacquer over top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jmnk6TaFsoY/Uf0iSzv8hiI/AAAAAAAAFr0/0gaZ2n0LRws/s1600/PaperWeight2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jmnk6TaFsoY/Uf0iSzv8hiI/AAAAAAAAFr0/0gaZ2n0LRws/s320/PaperWeight2.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added a thin stream of 3D Crystal lacquer on the top edge of the glider, then with my finger added <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers/Jewel-Effects--Shimmer-Mica-Powder/p/14107-br--Smokey-Quartz-Shimmer-sku-14107.htm" target="_blank">Smokey Quartz </a>of Terri Sproul's Shimmer Mica Powder mixers, pulling it down the side. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am happy with my NEW LOVELY paper weight!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a1MF22wEFWA/UfyaXJjYBjI/AAAAAAAABwQ/D4F3fdjLBjQ/s1600/SDC11462.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a1MF22wEFWA/UfyaXJjYBjI/AAAAAAAABwQ/D4F3fdjLBjQ/s320/SDC11462.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hi! Today I would like to show you how I used Metallic &</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pearl Crystal Lacquer to create an embellishment and main focal image for a card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
List of supplies used today are:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Acetate</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Image Stamp to color</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
StazOn Ink</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3D Metallic & Pearl Crystal Lacquer</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Card Base</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Card stock</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Patterned Paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sentiment Stamp</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Embellishments</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started with a piece of acetate (packaging) and</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
stamped a butterfly to color with my metallic/pearl pens.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I chose to use a complimentary color of permanent </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
StazOn Ink. I chose StazOn Ink so it wouldn't smudge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I turned my image over to color it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used each color in the set. When it was dry I turned my image back over to </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
reveal the lines of my image with my vibrant pearlized colors visible. <br />
Then cut out the image leaving approx. a 1/8" edge around the stamped image</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sDNdNY2g2wk/Ufyacd4LfaI/AAAAAAAABwU/pgysLFAsd-o/s1600/SDC11460.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sDNdNY2g2wk/Ufyacd4LfaI/AAAAAAAABwU/pgysLFAsd-o/s320/SDC11460.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I layered my card stock and patterned paper on my card base.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used pop dots to adhere my butterfly in the center small enough not to show through.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added the rest of my embellishments and stamped my sentiment at the bottom.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The inside of the card has a lovely Serenity Poem.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

Here is a close up of the butterfly. (hard to capture on camera)</div>

<br />
There are lots of silicone molds in the craft stores lately. <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/Metallic--Pearl--Glitter--6-Color-SDet--Pen-Style-Applicators.htm" target="_self">Sakura Crystal Lacquer Pens</a> are perfect for filling in tiny spaces in these intricate molds!<br />
<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307a0e970d-pi"><img alt="Sakura Crystal Lacquer Pens" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307a0e970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307a0e970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Sakura Crystal Lacquer Pens" /></a><br />These molds are flexible, so make sure your mold is sitting on a flat surface when you pour. I set mine on an empty plastic package so I could move it after I filled it. The Sakura pens come in lots of colors, and there’s even an empty pen so you can mix your own colors with <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers.htm" target="_self">Terri Sproul Mixers</a>! The tiny tip is perfect for filling in all the details in these little molds!<br />
<br />
Here are my ornaments setting up:<br />
<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e7110e4970b-pi"><img alt="Mold 2 (800x704)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e7110e4970b" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e7110e4970b-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Mold 2 (800x704)" /></a><br />I added some patina to a vintage brass locket with Vintaj Quartz and Onyx Patinas using a small paint brush. I added some of the Vintaj Onyx Patina to the fleur de lis. To give it a bit of an aged look, I rubbed it off of the high areas of the ornament, leaving it in the low areas.<br />
<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307ff7970d-pi"><img alt="Patina (800x427)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307ff7970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac307ff7970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Patina (800x427)" /></a><br />
<br />
I used clear <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm" target="_self">Crystal Lacquer</a> to adhere the fleur de lis to the locket. Then I sealed the entire outside of the piece with clear Crystal Lacquer, applying it with the small paintbrush. Then all I had to do was put it on a chain!<br />
<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac308221970d-pi"><img alt="Locket 2 (800x710)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac308221970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192ac308221970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Locket 2 (800x710)" /></a><br />Now is a great time to try this project or one like it, because you can get 20% off your entire purchase at Sakura Hobby Craft for the month of August. The more I play around with the supplies, the more fun I'm having and the more things I discover I can do with them. Today I mixed my media to form this beautiful bracelet.</span> </span></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UIXGYzYVvZc/UfCGaicePLI/AAAAAAAAF_0/oMuPHw3RjhU/s1600/IMG_0834+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UIXGYzYVvZc/UfCGaicePLI/AAAAAAAAF_0/oMuPHw3RjhU/s320/IMG_0834+(640x480).jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="font-size: large;">So to get started, you'll need to pick your favorite rub on image and/or rub on lettering. Apply this to the back of your glass piece. </span><a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants.htm"><span style="font-size: large;">http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants.htm</span></a></div>

<div align="center">
<span style="font-size: large;">Next I applied a top coat of the 3D Crystal lacquer to the back of my glass to seal in the rub on.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm"><span style="font-size: large;">http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm</span></a></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="font-size: large;">The process next will depend on your crocheting skills, but with a little practice you to can make this bracelet. I made a ball base, using the smallest crochet hook I had and crochet cotton. This pattern would help get you started </span><a href="http://www.craftdesigns4you.com/freecrochetball.htm"><span style="font-size: large;">http://www.craftdesigns4you.com/freecrochetball.htm</span></a><span style="font-size: large;">, you'll have to play with this to get it to fit properly and youtube offers a ton of how-to videos on making balls. The bracelet itself was made using the following pattern from </span><a href="http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-macrame-bracelet/"><span style="font-size: large;">http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-macrame-bracelet/</span></a><span style="font-size: large;">. The bracelet is a slide type bracelet, so it is adjustable to everyone! I did the bracelet in two pieces and joined them. I did use a little bit of the 3D Crystal Lacquer to secure the glass to the inside of the cotton ball center.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FRwfvYV9EnI/UfCGa38pRxI/AAAAAAAAGAA/bap9fVVuaX4/s1600/IMG_0833+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FRwfvYV9EnI/UfCGa38pRxI/AAAAAAAAGAA/bap9fVVuaX4/s320/IMG_0833+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello! Today I would like to show you how </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made jewellery necklaces from glass tiles and wedding magazines.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FUt4xu6Wj54/Ue7v3ubNVOI/AAAAAAAABuE/o1EvDZTwXVo/s1600/SDC11439.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FUt4xu6Wj54/Ue7v3ubNVOI/AAAAAAAABuE/o1EvDZTwXVo/s320/SDC11439.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Colorful Wedding Magazines made excellent images </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
especially when the glass makes the images bigger.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hOTNjw2iQZI/Ue7vQjno19I/AAAAAAAABsA/2A5k04apR1M/s1600/SDC11414.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hOTNjw2iQZI/Ue7vQjno19I/AAAAAAAABsA/2A5k04apR1M/s320/SDC11414.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had three small flowers I layered leaving some tile exposed for a background.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I glued them on the back of the tile with 3D Crystal Lacquer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YHDBgzZrpFs/Ue7vNWTWmKI/AAAAAAAABr0/iQY8XwL38lM/s1600/SDC11417.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YHDBgzZrpFs/Ue7vNWTWmKI/AAAAAAAABr0/iQY8XwL38lM/s320/SDC11417.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used Terri Sproul Mixers to color the remaining exposed tile.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sprinkled the powder into the crystal lacquer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gKHSPdJgxnk/Ue7vX3BMgKI/AAAAAAAABsU/zffZ93X9YLI/s1600/SDC11420.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gKHSPdJgxnk/Ue7vX3BMgKI/AAAAAAAABsU/zffZ93X9YLI/s320/SDC11420.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After it was dry I trimmed the edges to match the square glass tile.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AhdRmsce82M/Ue7v2JB6GTI/AAAAAAAABt8/I02wZMwd4UA/s320/SDC11438.JPG" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I glued on a finding to the back of the tile with </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Crystal Lacquer and added a green hand dyed seam binding. And that's it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I wanted a more neutral organic necklace. I chose a bird cage and wanted the birds in the background. I traced the round glass tile on my image and cut it out as well as the birds.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xJcD5tPQBrE/Ue7vcUUHV3I/AAAAAAAABsk/SxYOGiFVEuk/s1600/SDC11424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xJcD5tPQBrE/Ue7vcUUHV3I/AAAAAAAABsk/SxYOGiFVEuk/s320/SDC11424.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut out both images round initially but when I layered them</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I fussy cut the cage to view the birds in the background.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGGopuCFzhU/Ue7virrZ3dI/AAAAAAAABs8/-CBzFGp-VFM/s1600/SDC11422.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGGopuCFzhU/Ue7virrZ3dI/AAAAAAAABs8/-CBzFGp-VFM/s320/SDC11422.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-120nbXwkmdY/Ue7vgr_x5xI/AAAAAAAABs0/cBxFP1o2TCs/s1600/SDC11430.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-120nbXwkmdY/Ue7vgr_x5xI/AAAAAAAABs0/cBxFP1o2TCs/s320/SDC11430.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I glued the images to the glass tile with Crystal Lacquer as well as the finding.</div>

I've had a busy July and just got caught up with a lot of stuff. We went on a 12 day vacation and just got back last week. Of course I then realized I had forgotten to post my projects for Sakura. So, with that said let's get onto my project and I hope you forgive my lateness.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sakura has these awesome <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/High-Quality-Glass.htm" target="_blank">glass tiles</a> and <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/Bails.htm" target="_blank">bails</a> and I couldn't wait to get crafting with them. I wasn't sure what to do exactly and I knew I wanted something that popped. My favorite color is purple so of course I would be going in that direction. As always, I love to experiment so this is what I came up with. I took some ordinary tissue paper and the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers/Jewel-Effects--Interference-Pearl-Color/p/14063-br--Interference-Lilac-Pearl-sku-14063.htm" target="_blank">Interference Lilac Pearl mixer</a> with the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/3D-Crystal-Lacquer--Clear.htm" target="_blank">3D Crystal lacquer</a> and painted a section of the tissue paper with it and while it was still wet, plopped the glass tile right on top of it. I didn't paint perfectly to give it some dimension. The tissue paper wrinkled a little bit also, but that's the "cool" affect.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wGFw7BFEMS8/UewkM-fkhHI/AAAAAAAAFh8/ce5LAN15z2E/s1600/tissue+paper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wGFw7BFEMS8/UewkM-fkhHI/AAAAAAAAFh8/ce5LAN15z2E/s320/tissue+paper.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once that dried I flipped the tile over and added the bail also with the 3D Crystal Lacquer and painted over the entire back of the tile again to really seal it. It's now even waterproof. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nnttwBmSHUI/UewkKuug-zI/AAAAAAAAFhk/u_MCD3TKLRw/s1600/back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nnttwBmSHUI/UewkKuug-zI/AAAAAAAAFhk/u_MCD3TKLRw/s320/back.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just added it to a couple of strands of ribbon and now I have the perfect pendant. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-10MSalDE1Gw/UewkLEXG5vI/AAAAAAAAFhs/faCGWKZCIxs/s1600/front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-10MSalDE1Gw/UewkLEXG5vI/AAAAAAAAFhs/faCGWKZCIxs/s320/front.jpg" width="292" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What's also cool about this pendant is, depending on the light you see a lot of different color in it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-auDeaJr-gi0/UewkK58s4II/AAAAAAAAFho/_1VRuW1hHPU/s1600/change.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-auDeaJr-gi0/UewkK58s4II/AAAAAAAAFho/_1VRuW1hHPU/s320/change.jpg" width="276" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I hope you go and try using some tissue paper and mixers and see what you can come up with when you purchase some of these wonderful tiles and bails. There is even a coupon right now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Don't forget to use <span style="color: #351c75;"><strong style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">SUMMER 20% Off CODE: </strong><strong style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">Summer07 when purchasing any products at Sakura</strong></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will be back later this week with another "cool" project. You can always hop over <a href="http://createbyburffrau.blogspot.com/">here</a> to see what else I've been up to.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Turning a plastic tile into a prism of glass looking goodness!! Almost like Dicrohic glass.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NuTxuMQ405Y/Uc2pnSuypqI/AAAAAAAAB6A/44DhUimN3kU/s1000/wishes+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="363" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NuTxuMQ405Y/Uc2pnSuypqI/AAAAAAAAB6A/44DhUimN3kU/s400/wishes+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
3D Crystal Lacquer is the key to creating fast, easy, marbelized accents. Use the colored 3D Crystal Lacquer, or create your own using Terri Sproul Mixers.<br />
<br />
Turn the tile over and on the back side squeeze lines of colored lacquer you want to use. If you want to create your own color, mix it up and put into an empty applicator bottle.<br />
<br />
Once you have the lines of color, use a toothpick, or I used an end of a paintbrush to pull the color straight down from top to bottom, adding a swirl motion as I went. Play around and see what patterns you come up with! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="242" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-foheYrNn7Z8/Uc2rsD5W7qI/AAAAAAAAB6U/6a9-aWO9XPw/s320/wishes+2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
(Semi-Transparent so background colors of card, add and further enrich tile colors.)<br />
<br />
If you don't like what the result is, just wipe off lacquer and start over.<br />
<br />
Lastly, I added some of the Terri Sproul Mixers fine glitter lightly on the back to enhance the shimmery effect.<br />
<br />
Use clear 3D Crystal Lacquer to adhere to the card.<br />

Creating these tiles are addicting!!! Make up a batch to have on hand for any projects you will be creating!!!<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This week, I would like to show you my little heartfelt reminders to myself....</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This "<b>Heart Lifts</b>" has some of my touchstone words, & a couple quotes printed & glued inside to remind me on those days when life seems hard.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iKC_6mHyZIw/Uea2LkLQGuI/AAAAAAAAFqs/KZVvHk6q3cg/s1600/HeartLikes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iKC_6mHyZIw/Uea2LkLQGuI/AAAAAAAAFqs/KZVvHk6q3cg/s320/HeartLikes.jpg" width="311" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I started by choosing which glass tile shape I wanted. I found the right words in a unloved large print book, glued them to a circle cut to the right size from cardstock. I added the red hearts with a gel pen. I used <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/3D-Crystal-Lacquer--Clear.htm" target="_blank">3D Crystal Lacquer</a> to adhere the cardstock to the bottom of the glass circle tile. Set it aside to dry.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HFRMwAysUGk/Uea2NW3lsXI/AAAAAAAAFrU/6cW3n9CZVg0/s1600/SakuraGlassTiles.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="224" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HFRMwAysUGk/Uea2NW3lsXI/AAAAAAAAFrU/6cW3n9CZVg0/s320/SakuraGlassTiles.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">In my stash of wood pieces, I found the thread spool that would give me the room for the canvas once rolled up. I added lace trim to the bottom & top, covering the bottom with a piece of cardboard. Set aside to dry.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LtQpcJyA8-c/Uea2L4QDrrI/AAAAAAAAFq0/KhEArzwQMLU/s1600/HeartLikes1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LtQpcJyA8-c/Uea2L4QDrrI/AAAAAAAAFq0/KhEArzwQMLU/s320/HeartLikes1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SXE1jXR8J8c/Uea2Ln2RR0I/AAAAAAAAFrY/pqD9TBYbyhk/s1600/HeartLikes2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SXE1jXR8J8c/Uea2Ln2RR0I/AAAAAAAAFrY/pqD9TBYbyhk/s320/HeartLikes2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I had a scrap of heavy weight canvas leftover and cut it to a roughly 1 inch wide and had to sew the two pieces together to get the length of 11 inches. I added the same lace trim on the edge of the canvas, once I had zigzagged the edges.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NPN2PLV0VZI/Uea2M4uhLgI/AAAAAAAAFrI/8C36sOlVY0I/s1600/HeartLikes3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="176" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NPN2PLV0VZI/Uea2M4uhLgI/AAAAAAAAFrI/8C36sOlVY0I/s320/HeartLikes3.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I glued my touch stone words - <b>EMPOWER, STRENGTH, LOVE YOURSELF</b> and a couple quotes to the inside of the canvas, leaving about 1.5 inches at the start so that could be glued to the wooden spool. I glued (I know I should have sewn it down, but was creating as I went along & didn't think of the ribbon until the canvas strip was already glued onto the spool) the vintage seam binding ribbon on the end. I added 3 sizes of paper flowers with a brad on the top end, covering the glued area of the ribbon.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HK0GoWizZcE/Uea2NKYCg5I/AAAAAAAAFrQ/38a_WMH60XA/s1600/HeartLikes5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HK0GoWizZcE/Uea2NKYCg5I/AAAAAAAAFrQ/38a_WMH60XA/s320/HeartLikes5.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7K1Nr3lPKo0/Uea2MkysfsI/AAAAAAAAFrA/TB9V6r1iBbI/s1600/HeartLikes4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7K1Nr3lPKo0/Uea2MkysfsI/AAAAAAAAFrA/TB9V6r1iBbI/s320/HeartLikes4.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I had FUN creating something different using the lovely glass tiles from <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/index.htm" target="_blank">Sakura Hobby Craft</a>, hope you will attempt to make something similar for yourself, using touchstone "<b>Heart Lifts</b>" that mean something to <b>YOU</b>.</span></div>

I made more really easy pendants!
<br />
<br />
To make a pendant like these, you need one of Sakura's <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/High-Quality-Glass.htm" target="_self">glass tiles</a> and matching <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Gem-Crafts/Jewelry-Findings.htm" target="_self">bezel cup</a>, <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/3D-Crystal-Lacquer--Clear.htm" target="_self">Crystal Lacquer</a> and an image that fits the tile.<br />
<br />
The glass tiles are available in rectangular, square and circular shapes.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfcfeba970d-pi"><img alt="Glass tiles (800x439)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfcfeba970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfcfeba970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Glass tiles (800x439)" /></a><br />
There are bezel cups to match. There are also bails you can glue right onto the glass tiles. <br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433cd00970c-pi"><img alt="Bezels (800x600)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433cd00970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433cd00970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Bezels (800x600)" /></a><br />I made two pendants. They both use scrapbook paper. One is heavy cardstock paper from Graphic 45. The other is thin paper from Sandylion. They both worked well!<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd00c7970d-pi"><img alt="Holly Pendant by Karen Lackey" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd00c7970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd00c7970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Holly Pendant by Karen Lackey" /></a><br /><a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e3db0d8970b-pi"><img alt="Mickey Mouse Pendant (600x800)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e3db0d8970b" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e3db0d8970b-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Mickey Mouse Pendant (600x800)" /></a><br />You could use almost any paper, and I think fabric would work fine, too. I think this would be great with a map featuring your hometown or some of your favorite text. <br />
I sealed the images with Mod Podge.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd0212970d-pi"><img alt="Choose images (800x324)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd0212970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd0212970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Choose images (800x324)" /></a><br />You could trace the shape of the glass tile onto your paper and cut the paper to fit, but it’s really easy to just adhere the glass tile to the paper with Crystal Lacquer and then trim it when it starts to set up. Crystal Lacquer comes in a bottle with a small dispenser tip that is perfect for squeezing out small amounts. I lightly coated the back of my glass tiles with Crystal Lacquer. I didn’t spread the Crystal Lacquer all the way to the edges of the tiles, because it sort of gets squished out when you put it down on the paper. After coating the tiles, I placed them where I wanted them on the paper. The tile wants to slide around on the Crystal Lacquer, so you’ll want to hold it in place for a moment while it settles.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd02ed970d-pi"><img alt="Adhering the image to the glass (800x399)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd02ed970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abfd02ed970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Adhering the image to the glass (800x399)" /></a><br />Once the Crystal Lacquer started to set up, I trimmed the paper with scissors.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d12a970c-pi"><img alt="Trim the image (800x331)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d12a970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d12a970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Trim the image (800x331)" /></a><br />Then I coated the back of the paper lightly with Crystal Lacquer and set the tiles down into the bezel cups. I used a wet paper towel to wipe away a little Crystal Lacquer that got squished out.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d1f4970c-pi"><img alt="Insert image in bezel cup (800x508)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d1f4970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d1f4970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Insert image in bezel cup (800x508)" /></a><br />And that was it! All I had to do then was put the pendants on chains. Sakura offers <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/Chains.htm" target="_self">ball chain</a> in several finishes. I added a brass chain for the
brass finish bezel cup.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d327970c-pi"><img alt="Holly Pendant2" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d327970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01910433d327970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Holly Pendant2" /></a><br />I live in a really dry place, and I could make these in the morning to wear the same evening, but in other places, you’ll want to let the Crystal Lacquer dry for at least a day or so.<br />
<br />
Just think! You can make this pendant with absolutely any image you want! I hope you will try it. Today I would like to share with you my easiest project yet! The possibilities are endless. Family Photos, Magazine Pages, Origami Paper, Tissue Paper.. I could go on.. <br />
<br />
Todays tutorial is using these products: <br />
Sakura Fancy Glass Pendants and Findings<br />
3D Crystal Lacquer <br />
Paper<br />
<div align="center">
I started by selecting pictures and background paper.<br />
I found a Marilyn Monroe picture out of an old calendar.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ls7FCBKBVY/Udu_dAR3CpI/AAAAAAAABjo/9yPTKC0tOk8/s1600/SDC11401.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6Ls7FCBKBVY/Udu_dAR3CpI/AAAAAAAABjo/9yPTKC0tOk8/s320/SDC11401.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I trimmed them to fit my bezel</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aj9_3OyJDDQ/Udu_kadBWFI/AAAAAAAABkI/cy1SB546oHs/s1600/SDC11402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aj9_3OyJDDQ/Udu_kadBWFI/AAAAAAAABkI/cy1SB546oHs/s320/SDC11402.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I put some Crystal Lacquer in the bezel , then placed my photo/picture </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
into the bezel and covered it with more Crystal Lacquer. Then placed my glass on top.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it for this one!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7V0GqV20yWc/Udu_isJUbtI/AAAAAAAABj4/O187OODaop0/s1600/SDC11403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7V0GqV20yWc/Udu_isJUbtI/AAAAAAAABj4/O187OODaop0/s320/SDC11403.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started another with cardstock paper and a fussy cut butterfly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I placed everything in the bezel and pressed firmly to make an embossed impression of the bezel so I would know where to cut. I used the same method of layering and Crystal lacquer and my glass on top and whalla! instant Jewelry!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DS-IvRSqdkA/Udu_gn5vCCI/AAAAAAAABjw/D3Zf0WH6t3g/s1600/SDC11404.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DS-IvRSqdkA/Udu_gn5vCCI/AAAAAAAABjw/D3Zf0WH6t3g/s320/SDC11404.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Playing with 3D Crystal Lacquer and clear surfaces is way fun!!! It is abstract, surreal, and wonderful patterns can be made.<br />

<br />
The tile I used is round with a hole so you can make it into a necklace. The 3D Crystal Lacquer is on the back and my homemade graphic artwork is on the front.<br />
<br />
Take the tile and turn it over to the flat side - that is the back.<br />
<br />
I used 3D Crystal Lacquer in the Metallic colors. I ran medium lines of color alternating from gold to blue, filling the back of the tile.<br />
<br />
Using a toothpick, I swirled the colors together. I like the free-form look that was created.<br />
<br />
For more control, you can marbelize the colors by pulling the toothpick down in a line from top to bottom of tile, repeating moving to the right until there are blended lines all the way across.<br />
<br />
There are lots of plastic or rubber blending tools for this, but since this is such a small surface, the toothpick works well.<br />
<br />
Lastly, I added a pearl Mica Flakes. <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers/Glitz-Effects--Glass-Particle-Glitter.htm" target="_blank"> Sakura Hobby</a> has all sorts of add-ins.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sFp57iVL2iY/UcX8-rcrrwI/AAAAAAAAB4w/mzOgZdUVUCg/s1600/tile+necklace+1+Good.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sFp57iVL2iY/UcX8-rcrrwI/AAAAAAAAB4w/mzOgZdUVUCg/s400/tile+necklace+1+Good.jpg" width="350" /></a></div>
Let this all dry. When dried, add a layer of clear 3D Crystal Lacquer to seal it all together. You can wear this necklace on either side! See how pretty the lacquered and mica flake side looks!<br />
<br />
On the flip side, add your art. Collage, or as I did, made a graphic sticker and added that. You could add dimensional elements instead of collaging as well. Squeeze a small puddle of 3D Crystal Lacquer and push your element into it. When dried, the lacquer will hold the piece in place.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IrVOGJCQW4k/UcX90jupkWI/AAAAAAAAB44/oZVznCkMZ_8/s1600/tile+necklace+4+whole+Good.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IrVOGJCQW4k/UcX90jupkWI/AAAAAAAAB44/oZVznCkMZ_8/s400/tile+necklace+4+whole+Good.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Add a jump ring through the hole and string the fiber through the jump ring, tie end and wear!!!!!<br />
<br />
Think of the acrylic books, clear plastic sheets, mugs where you can blend lacquer colors and embellish. Anything clear will work.<br />
<br />

Hope your holiday week - CANADA DAY here in Canada and 4th of JULY in the USA are AWESOME for you!<br />
<br />
I am always telling people to CELEBRATE their accomplishments, whether small or large. So, my first project for July is a little CELEBRATE box, where I can put a note in there for each achievement, goal, etc. through out the year.<br />
<br />
I started with a little chocolate box that has been kicking around my stash of boxes for awhile. The box measures 2.75 X 3.5 inches and is 1 inch deep.<br />
I covered the lid with a scrapbook paper, and gessoed the print on the bottom of the box. The inside of the box was untouched.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k9RsiY9FuZU/UdOfFVo6A_I/AAAAAAAAFpQ/JN7LB6fimQY/s640/CelebrateBox1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k9RsiY9FuZU/UdOfFVo6A_I/AAAAAAAAFpQ/JN7LB6fimQY/s320/CelebrateBox1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Oxt2GW8FB20/UdOhkRiHbtI/AAAAAAAAFpg/Eb8jQB7DJNg/s640/CelebrateBox2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Oxt2GW8FB20/UdOhkRiHbtI/AAAAAAAAFpg/Eb8jQB7DJNg/s320/CelebrateBox2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The hardest decision - which <span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">o</span><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">ne of Sakura Hobby Craft’s </span><a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/High-Quality-Glass.htm" style="background-color: white; color: #6699cc; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; text-decoration: none;" target="_self"><b>glass tiles</b></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;"> and matching </span><a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Gem-Crafts/Jewelry-Findings.htm" style="background-color: white; color: #6699cc; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; text-decoration: none;" target="_self">bezel cup</a><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">The glass tiles are available in rectangle, square and circular shapes.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">I decided to go with the bronze round one for this project.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">I cut the word - "CELEBRATE" from a large print book, then added it to similar colour of paper, then used my only border punch to add similar paper as the box over & below the word. I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to glue the glass tile over the word.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">I tied the organza coloured ribbon through the bail at the top of the bezel cup.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I-7O0-F75XA/UdOjAWNB60I/AAAAAAAAFpw/8ZeUKL6R9Yg/s640/CelebrateBox3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I-7O0-F75XA/UdOjAWNB60I/AAAAAAAAFpw/8ZeUKL6R9Yg/s320/CelebrateBox3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">I added a piece of vintage lace over a document seal sticker and a teal paper scrap, then used 3D Crystal Lacquer to glue down the bezel cup. Used it also to glue down the 5 beads around the bezel cup.</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C9Mopj3wXv8/UdOjrQuFa3I/AAAAAAAAFp4/8wkqaLv89PE/s640/CelebrateBox4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C9Mopj3wXv8/UdOjrQuFa3I/AAAAAAAAFp4/8wkqaLv89PE/s320/CelebrateBox4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added more vintage lace all around the side of the box top, then added the teal trim over the lace.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For each goal, or achievement that is reached, I will be adding a little note inside. At the end of the year, will record all those achievements in my journal and then start again in January 2014.</div>

<br />
This is the easiest pendant you will ever make!<br />
<br />
You will need one of Sakura Hobby Craft’s <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/High-Quality-Glass.htm" target="_self">glass tiles</a> and matching <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Gem-Crafts/Jewelry-Findings.htm" target="_self">bezel cup</a>, <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer/3D-Crystal-Lacquer--Clear.htm" target="_self">Crystal Lacquer</a> and an image that fits the tile.<br />
<br />
The glass tiles are available in rectangle, square and circular shapes.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3031970c-pi"><img alt="Glass tiles (800x439)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3031970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3031970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Glass tiles (800x439)" /></a><br />
There are bezel cups to match. There are also bails you can glue right onto the glass tiles<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc458ac970d-pi"><img alt="Bezels (800x600)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc458ac970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc458ac970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Bezels (800x600)" /></a><br />
I made two pendants.<br />
<br />
One features a piece of paper I printed with my Gelli plate.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3d84970c-pi"><img alt="Finished aqua pendant (791x800)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3d84970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb3d84970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Finished aqua pendant (791x800)" /></a><br />
The other uses a Mad Hatter image from Graphic 45’s Hallowe’en in Wonderland Collection. <br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb42e0970c-pi"><img alt="Mad Hatter finished (722x800)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb42e0970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb42e0970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Mad Hatter finished (722x800)" /></a><br />
You could use almost any paper, and I think fabric would work fine, too. I think this would be great with a map featuring your hometown or some of your favorite text. You may want to seal the image with Mod Podge if you think it will run.<br />
<br />
You could trace the shape of the glass tile onto your paper and cut the paper to fit, but it’s really easy to adhere the glass tile to the paper with Crystal Lacquer and then trim it when it starts to set up.
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc46ff2970d-pi"><img alt="Glued with Crystal Lacquer (800x341)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc46ff2970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc46ff2970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Glued with Crystal Lacquer (800x341)" /></a><br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc472a8970d-pi"><img alt="Mad Hatter glued (800x636)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc472a8970d" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d0192abc472a8970d-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Mad Hatter glued (800x636)" /></a><br />
Once the Crystal Lacquer started to set up, I trimmed the paper with scissors.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4c43970c-pi"><img alt="Trimmed (800x376)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4c43970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4c43970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Trimmed (800x376)" /></a><br />
Then I coated the back of the paper lightly with Crystal Lacquer and set the tiles down into the bezel cups. I used a wet paper towel to wipe away a little Crystal Lacquer that got squished out.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4f13970c-pi"><img alt="In the bezels (800x454)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4f13970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb4f13970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="In the bezels (800x454)" /></a><br />
And that was it! All I had to do then was put the pendants on chains. Sakura offers <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Fancy-Glass-Pendants/Chains.htm" target="_self">ball chain</a> in several finishes. I used some chain I had on hand.<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb5422970c-pi"><img alt="Finished aqua pendant 2 (800x638)" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb5422970c" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d019103fb5422970c-320wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Finished aqua pendant 2 (800x638)" /></a><br />
Wouldn't this be a great favor at an Alice in Wonderland party? You could use a different character for each guest!<br />
<a class="asset-img-link" href="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e05649f970b-pi"><img alt="Mad Hatter pendant 2" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e05649f970b" src="http://starshinesalon.typepad.com/.a/6a014e881b9f4a970d01901e05649f970b-500wi" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="Mad Hatter pendant 2" /></a><br />
I live in a really dry place, and I could make these in the morning to wear the same evening, but in other places, you’ll want to let the Crystal Lacquer dry for at least a day or so.<br />
<br />
Just think! You can make this pendant with absolutely any image you want! I hope you will try it. I cannot tell you how much I love using the <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/3D-Crystal-Lacquer.htm" target="_blank">3d Crystal Lacquer</a> and <a href="http://www.sakuracraft.com/shop/Terri-Sprouls-Mixers.htm" target="_blank">Terri Sproul Mixers</a>. I'm not much of a painter, but if I were, I would paint the world with these two items.</b></span><br />
<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Today I want to show you the difference in colors. I purchased this belt at a closeout store. I think I paid 50 cents for it. I loved the detail in the buckle and new I could "fix" it up. I just really wasn't too keen on the metal look, but I loved the design of the buckle.</b></span><br />
<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>I mixed the Interference Lilac Pearl with the 3D Crystal Lacquer and just painted the buckle with it. I missed and some got on the leather part of the belt and I LOVED the color it gave. Sometimes oopses are happy mistakes. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #8e7cc3; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>It turned out soft on the metal part. I love the "lavender" color on it. Now the leather on the other hand became very bold. I just love the contrasts and it's the SAME color. So in a round about way, you could have multiple colors using just ONE color. More bang for your buck!!! <span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b><u>Airbrush with Pearl Mixers</u></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>I own an airbrush system and wondered if I could airbrush with Pearl Mixers - Well the answer to that is YES YES YES!</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RVDxGR8Q7qQ/UckruXmAN6I/AAAAAAAAF8o/drW31719W0Y/s1600/IMG_0782+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RVDxGR8Q7qQ/UckruXmAN6I/AAAAAAAAF8o/drW31719W0Y/s400/IMG_0782+(640x480).jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;">The first thing I did was set up my airbrush system. I needed to use a top load airbrush for this job. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;">I mixed about a teaspoon of water and about a 1/4 teaspoon of Pearl Mixers in a container and stirred this mixture very well. I poured this mixture into my airbrush. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;">I had all my supplies, Prima templates, fabric, ribbon and paper ready to start airbrushing.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v1pjU7ONKFA/Uckruj0bW0I/AAAAAAAAF8s/lhUAJRKSZIA/s1600/IMG_0783+(640x480).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v1pjU7ONKFA/Uckruj0bW0I/AAAAAAAAF8s/lhUAJRKSZIA/s320/IMG_0783+(640x480).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;">You can see here in the photo below just how much fun I had.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D5ugenxY_hg/UckrwBuFNII/AAAAAAAAF9E/E6-sK8Ng-JE/s1600/IMG_0784+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D5ugenxY_hg/UckrwBuFNII/AAAAAAAAF9E/E6-sK8Ng-JE/s400/IMG_0784+%2528640x480%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>Some things you need to know about this process.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b style="color: purple; font-size: x-large;">- Pearl Mixers will smear on paper and aren't photo safe so m</b><span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>ake sure you heat set (fabric) or seal your paper.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b style="color: purple; font-size: x-large;">- Pearl Mixers can be mixed with alcohol or water.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>- Airbrushing thru lace is a lot of fun!</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>- Make sure you mix your mixture really well, you don't want to clog your airbrush.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>- Clean your airbrush immediately after using.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"><b>Here are some of the finished pieces.</b></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: large;"> The background lace and ribbon were airbrushed. The bird was made using Pearl mixers and 3D Crystal lacquer.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hi! Today I would like to share with you a project I <br />
thoroughly enjoyed. I love to make flowers and these <br />
were no exception. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The items I used today are:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Polymer Clay<br />
Terri Sproul Pearl Mixers</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Piercing Tool</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Exacto Knife (to cut the clay)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Teflon Mat </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started with soft clay and cut slices to form into petals.<br />
I adhered the petals to a clay dot and pressed each petal <br />
with a piercing tool into the clay dot center.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2bKKWPfjFzo/UcafuCoEnUI/AAAAAAAABfI/bscwPJhEweU/s1600/SDC11296.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2bKKWPfjFzo/UcafuCoEnUI/AAAAAAAABfI/bscwPJhEweU/s320/SDC11296.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also used the piercing tool to make veins in the petals.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This flower below I used two</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
colors of clay with the darker color in the middle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then it was time to paint with some Terri Sproul Pearl Mixers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I prepared my paint by mixing the mixers with water and binding powder.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a finer brush with this particular flower as it as </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
easier to control the amount of paint.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4wfYo-nLpso/Ucaf81PtMsI/AAAAAAAABfw/Ev4CXxJ6S5o/s1600/SDC11298.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4wfYo-nLpso/Ucaf81PtMsI/AAAAAAAABfw/Ev4CXxJ6S5o/s320/SDC11298.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3W8Tp_70XIY/UcafxvA6beI/AAAAAAAABfQ/paaikSQ2kz4/s1600/SDC11299.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3W8Tp_70XIY/UcafxvA6beI/AAAAAAAABfQ/paaikSQ2kz4/s320/SDC11299.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ipHG-nvSMQ/Ucaf1bJ09lI/AAAAAAAABfY/o_bfkXpl4vA/s1600/SDC11300.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ipHG-nvSMQ/Ucaf1bJ09lI/AAAAAAAABfY/o_bfkXpl4vA/s320/SDC11300.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TGDVa5ggrS8/Ucaf60KQboI/AAAAAAAABfo/iE2eYJ0gkMc/s1600/SDC11301.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TGDVa5ggrS8/Ucaf60KQboI/AAAAAAAABfo/iE2eYJ0gkMc/s320/SDC11301.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now its time to bake following the instructions on the package.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QQYsFZUIMCg/Ucaf-ue8atI/AAAAAAAABf4/PaLeRt-JMxg/s1600/SDC11302.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QQYsFZUIMCg/Ucaf-ue8atI/AAAAAAAABf4/PaLeRt-JMxg/s320/SDC11302.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Walla, I have three flower embellishments ready for my next project. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d5dwN8xcKOs/Uaee3q6viJI/AAAAAAAABz4/cvTvfrL5TrQ/s1600/Sakura+7a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="370" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d5dwN8xcKOs/Uaee3q6viJI/AAAAAAAABz4/cvTvfrL5TrQ/s400/Sakura+7a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Another embellishment and how different ways of using Terri Sproul Mixers with or without 3D Crystal Lacquer can effect the appearance of finished art work. <br />
<br />
This embellishment is casted with Paper Clay. I worked TS Mixers- Pearl into the surface, blending and mixing some colors together. The look achieved is an ancient coin. <br />
<br />
After working TS Mixers - Pearl into the surface, I used a touch of clear 3D Crystal Lacquer in a light coat to add a little more to the effect of metal. Because of the properties of the Paper Clay, you would use one heavy coat or several light coats - HOWEVER - in this case, one sparingly small coat is done. It gives the metallic look, without making the embellishment TOO SHINY.<br />
<br />
I tend to mix colors and experiment with how the colors mix together to form another color or look! Some days I'm in a mood for total shiny, so I combine my TS Mixers with 3D Crystal Lacquer, and on other days, I like to use the mixers by themselves.<br />
<br />
There are millions of combinations that can be created, millions of different looks. Shimmers will give you a shear, light look. The Pearl is of course pearl shimmer but also opaque. Using 3D Crystal Lacquer will totally change the look, metallic, glass, or other type looks.<br />
<br />
Quick, easy, techniques can transport your art in ways you never thought before. Express your inner creative spirit, while getting compliments on what you design. So many will ask, "How'd you do that?"<br />
