Wishes

Turning a plastic tile into a prism of glass looking goodness!!  Almost like Dicrohic glass.

3D Crystal Lacquer is the key to creating fast, easy, marbelized accents.  Use the colored 3D Crystal Lacquer, or create your own using Terri Sproul Mixers.

Turn the tile over and on the back side squeeze lines of colored lacquer you want to use.  If you want to create your own color, mix it up and put into an empty applicator bottle.

Once you have the lines of color, use a toothpick, or I used an end of a paintbrush to pull the color straight down from top to bottom, adding a swirl motion as I went.  Play around and see what patterns you come up with!

(Semi-Transparent so background colors of card, add and further enrich tile colors.)

If you don't like what the result is, just wipe off lacquer and start over.

Lastly, I added some of the Terri Sproul Mixers fine glitter lightly on the back to enhance the shimmery effect.

Use clear 3D Crystal Lacquer to adhere to the card.

Creating these tiles are addicting!!!  Make up a batch to have on hand for any projects you will be creating!!!

CD Case Gift Card Holder

CD Case Gift Card Holder
I decided to make a gift card holder out of this cd case. I figured you could not only put a gift card in there but also a special cd that you make for the person as well if you like.
An accordian album would fit nicely in there with a gift card as well.
This picture was taken while it was still drying. I went to use some of the 3D Lacquer to add a dew drop and when I went to pour I didn't realize I took the WHOLE lid off and a whole bunch of glue went everywhere. The project had been complete minus the dew drop and dried beforehand. I guess that is what I get for last minute additions. :)

Supplies:
(I couldn't tell you all the colors because some of the pieces were made a while back and felt they went along with this project so I added them.)
(Used this on the bottom piece of the cupcake!)
CD Case
Cookie Cutter
Molds (I used Martha Stewart for the cupcake and the bow)
The Robin's Nest Dew Drop
Directions:
Add mixer to 3D lacquer and dab it on the cd case.
Then add all your pieces you made in molds.
(It's very easy to pour the 3D Crystal Lacquer into a mold and some mixer, doesn't take much, but depending on the depth of the mold you may need to let it dry up for longer than 24 hours)
The heart was cut out with a cookie cutter.
And due to the spillage of the lacquer I had to fill in the heart with a color mixer.
And added a dew drop to the top of the larger heart that was made in a mold.
Thanks for visiting!

Sakura's 3D Crystal Lacquer Primary Color Set!

I love playing with my Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.  This week I have been using Sakura's 3D Crystal Lacquer Primary Color Set. It comes in a pack of six 0.5 oz pen style applicator bottles with a fine tip. Includes: Blue, Violet, Green, Red, Dark Brown and Yellow.

Here are some ideas for 3D elements. The first is an embellishment I plan to use on a card that can later be removed and used as an ornament or sun-catcher.
I found a pack of 12 fairy ornaments at Christmas and thought these would be great filled in with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.

I laid the fairy on my craft mat and filled in the openings with lacquer.  On this fairy I have used violet, red and yellow. For the skin I used pink from the Sakura's 3D Crystal Lacquer Pastel Colors
I have added several applications of lacquer to get the thickness would like.  Set aside to dry until the lacquer has dried throughly before trying to remove from the mat.

The second project is a 3D Valentine embellishment.  The hearts and frozen Charlotte are molded from paper clay. This embellishment will be placed on card also, later to be used as magnet.
On this project I used the yellow and red from the Sakura's 3D Crystal Lacquer Primary Color Set. (The colors in the photograph are a little off from real life!) The pearls were added with clear Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. Before the lacquer is dry sprinkle with Terri Sprouls Ultra Fine Glitter.
The smaller heart was painted with the same red, but just a thin layer. Write on "I love you" or "Be Mine" with a Sharpie! Adhere magnet to the back.

Sakura & SinCity Scraps Tree Ornaments!

This time of year I love making ornaments... today I am using  Creative Paperclay® and stamps from SinCity Scraps with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers to make these amazing ornaments!

Supplies:

First roll out the Creative Paperclay® you will roll the stamps into the clay, be sure it is thick enough that the stamp will not break through the clay. Gently roll the SinCity Scraps Mannequin Tag Stamps into the clay.
Carefully cut around the stamped images with a cutting tool, then set aside to dry.
When dry sand the edges, with an emery board.
Paint the SinCity Scraps Mannequin Tag Stamps with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers! While the Lacquer is still wet sprinkle with Terri Sproul Ultra Fine Glitter. Use a decorative ornament hook and tie a few inches of gold wired ribbon to create "wings".
Wouldn't a tree full of these be beautiful?

Fun with Sakura and Outline Stickers!

Today I had the opportunity to work with Outline Stickers from Sparkraft Enterprises with Sukura Hobby Craft products. The Outline Stickers are various colors and textured PVC foil adhesive backed sticker sheets.
For the first technique, place the Outline Sticker on a Miracle Sheet and cut the size of the panel to be used. Then over one of a little pan  pour Terri Sproul Ultra Fine Glitter, shake off the excess.  With a piece of paper over the image burnish the glitter into the Miracle Sheet with the side of a bone folder.
Use Copics to color the image.
This butterfly was fussy cut
and attached to the card directly.

The second technique, place the Outline Stickers on a transparency.  Add desired colors of Terri Sproul Mixers to  to Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. Paint the images with a rainbow of colors to create a stain glass look.
Fussy cut the images from the transparency and create one of a kind cards!
I didn't have much luck staying in the lines when I painted them, I was a bit impatient. Once dry, MY TRICK IS, since I used a transparency I was able to use the back side of my images as the finished product. The Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers are transparent and look great on the Sparkraft Enterprises Outline Stickers!

Please click on the images to get a closer look at how cool they look!!!

Necklace Pendant

Necklace Pendant
I decided to make a simple yet pretty pendant for my son's girlfriend. They are getting married next month and wanted to give her something for her stocking since they will be spending Christmas at my house. I am unsure of her favorite color but know it's not PINK.
Good for me because that means I don't have to share any of my pink goodies. I'm almost certain it is purple though for some reason.
I began with the idea of using glass particles in it but decided against it once I saw it the way it was already. It just needs a chain.
Supplies:
Directions:
1. Pour some shimmer powder around lightly into the jewelry finding.
2.Then add a few drops of color enhance effect to different places on top of the shimmer powder.
3. Fill the jewelry finding with 3D Crystal Lacquer, be careful not to overfill.
4. Mixed it all together. (I used a plastic knife to mix it all up and get the rich color!)
5. Then gently drop ultra fine glitter on different areas of the pendant and allow it to dry and then put ribbon or chain through the whole so it can be worn.
The picture doesn't do it justice. The glitter causes the picture to reflect light back during the camera process. But I was so happy with the color of it at this point I didn't want to take it any steps further and add texture as I originally planned and feel she will love it.
Thank you for visiting!

Embellished Business Card Case

Supplies:
1 Business Card Case
Sakura 3d Crystal Lacquer
Terri Sproul Mixers- Ultra Fine Glitter
Silver Puff Paint
Crystals
Flower Embellishment

http://www.sakuracraft.com/

These are similar to the case I had. I peeled the covers off (they were only stuck on). I found some on "1 Sale a Day" a while back for $1.99 so I bought a few.

www.createbr.com
Select your paper and cut it to fit inside the business card holder cover. Mine had a little edge around it so I made sure mine fit inside the edge. That edge would come in handy when filling the inside with the lacquer.

I am making this for my niece who just won student body president, so I am making my very girly.

Spread a little Sakura 3d Crystal Lacquer on the front cover of the case and place the scrapbook paper down inside. You don't need to let this dry before going to the next step.

After you place the scrapbook paper down, you can begin to coat the entire surface with Sakura 3d Crystal Lacquer. Then sprinkle in some Terri Sproul Mixers- Ultra Fine Glitter. The iridescence of this can not be given justice by the photograph.

Now add your embellishments. I do this while my lacquer is still wet. If yours has dried, just glue it down using a drop of the Sakura 3d Crystal Lacquer.

The crystals and the rose will be anchored in the lacquer well.

The rose I used was from a set of childrens earrings. I found 10 pair on one sheet for $1.00. I just snap off the post and glue it down. I love them!!

I then used the silver puff paint to write "IVY" in the bottom right corner. You may want to let your lacquer sit awhile before this step. Mine was still very wet and the puff paint ran a little.

The surface is smooth but the lighting makes it look a bit like it has a ripple. It does not.

I wanted to keep this girly, yet simple.

Since it ran a little I wanted to bring out the name more so I went in with a fine tipped sharpie and outlined the letters.

I like!

My Girly Business Card Holder is complete. These will also work well for Gift Card holders or just for cash. I love it!! And I hope my niece does too!
