Steampunk Mardi Gras Mask Pin

In  Louisiana it is Mardi Gras Season. Everywhere you look you see king cakes, Mardi Gras beads and purple, green, and gold! So to honor my roots I created a Steampunk Mardi Gras Mask Pin. I took a resin face that I had previously poured (that had some imperfections in the left side), some metal gears, watch parts, 3d crystal lacquer and lacquer mixers and rub-n-buff.

Step 1.

Take resin face ( mine was poured. Few days before with black dyed resin)

Rub with rub-n-buff ( silver), to highlight the raised areas.

Take some 3d crystal lacquer and squirt a drop on your non stick mat and mix in a little of the Terri Sproul mixers. I used purple to highlight the eyes as eyeshadow and red to highlight the lips.

Then start gluing ( using the 3d crystal lacquer as a glue) the small gears over the right eye of the face. I then use some small watch gears and cross the forehead.

I squirted more 3d crystal lacquer on the non stick mat and glue the three larger gears together. I didn't glue them directly t the back yet because the back of the face want even enough. Maybe using a thicker glue it might work, but I was trying the artfully arrange my large gears.

Once that dried I then pealed it off the mat and trimmed and then attached to the back of the face.


I had planned on some more Mardi gras embellishments, but I really liked my mask this way. Glue a pin on the back and you are done!

If you have issues gluing the three larger gears, you could attach the gears and mask to a circle piece of glass.

I found this bare art journal at the airport during my last trip and I fall in love it . But I look like something was missing I though the wow all the possibilities. I can decorate my and make my own so I had to get it.

Here you will see how special is now a little imagination and a great product make  my journal into a masterpiece of its own.

It really gives a new meaning to "Never judge a book for it's cover."

Steampunk Your My Little Pony with Sakura ®

Here is another example of the My Little Pony project with diferent 3D Sakura color scheme. I used here the Terri's Sprouls Mixers Pink Pearls and Blue Pearls for the tatoos and green pearls and black for the eyes. Sparkles with swarovski crystals.

TOP TEN Embellishments!

My post today is my "TOP TEN" Embellishments to make using Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers.

NUMBER ONE: BOTTLE CAPS

Save bottle caps, adhere images to the bottle cap with a dab of Crystal Lacquer.  Add a thick coat of Lacquer and set aside to dry overnight.  Above there is a hint of color --- Terri Sproul Mixers - Tanzanite Pearl and Pink Sapphire Pearl. 

The bottle cap on the right is dressed up with a ring of gold seed beads added to the rim. 

NUMBER TWO: ORNAMENTS

These could be used on cards, packages or even as tree ornaments. Use Fancy Pants Frames and Graphic 45 papers cut to fit, cover with Crystal Lacquer.  Set aside to dry 24 hours.

NUMBER THREE: CARD TRIM
First Image bottom to top:  Add VLVS! Miracle Tape to the edge of card, remove protective covering, add trinkets and fill in with seed beads. Cover with Crystal Lacquer, set aside to dry 24 hours. Learned this from Terri Sproul on one of her Monday Night Shows!

NUMBER FOUR: CREATIVE PAPERCLAY®  Objects created with Creative Paperclay can be painted with Crystal Lacquer mixed with Terri Sproul Mixers. Dries in about 20 minutes. Face and Dolls - Gold and Paris - Pink Sapphire Pearl.

NUMBER FIVE: CHARMS 

Silver charms can be made any color you desire with Crystal Lacquer mixed with Terri Sproul Mixers - Tanzanite Pearl and Pink Sapphire Pearl.

NUMBER SIX: GAME PEICES SCRABBLE
Game pieces make great embellishments, above Scrabble pieces are painted the Crystal Lacquer mixed with Terri Sproul Mixers - Pink Shimmer.

NUMBER SEVEN: GAME PEICES BINGO

Bingo numbers topped with Crystal Lacquer are another idea for an super embellishment. 

NUMBER EIGHT: BRADS
Take ordinary brads and make them glitter.  Paint a dab of Lacquer on the top of the brads and dip them in Terri Sprouls Ultra Fine Glitter.

NUMBER NINE: STEAMPUNK HEARTS

With Creative Paperclay® cut small hearts, paint them burgundy and dry. Cover with Crystal Lacquer, add watch parts and gears. Set aside to dry overnight. 

NUMBER TEN: BUTTONS
Don't have the right color of buttons?  Then paint white buttons with Crystal Lacquer mixed with Terri Sproul Mixers - above are Shimmer Violet.

Terri Sproul Mixers ~ Sakura Crystal Lacquer ~ Easter Chicks!

Having fun with Terri Sproul Mixers, Sakura Crystal Lacquer and gears for Spring!!! Let your imagination run wild... have all the fun you want creating with Terri Sproul Mixers and Sakura Crystal Lacquer!!!  There is no end to what you can create!

Paint canvas with gesso, dry.  Add a thin layer of glue, lay napkin gently on glue. Paint glue over napkin and add a strip of music.  Lightly gesso over the canvas again. 

Lay bubble wrap over the canvas to remove a little more of the gesso and give it a little texture. Paint Citrine Pearl + Tanzanite Pearl for the grass and stems with leaves.  Set aside to dry.

Gesso over chipboard, dry, add Sakura Crystal Lacquer with Terri Sproul Mixers. Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Citirne Pearl on the large and small gears for the body and head of the chicks. Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Citrine Pearl + Shimmer Garnet mixed for orange on the keys for the legs/feet and a little for the beaks on smaller gear.

Strips of paper are rolled for the flowers and painted with Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Purple Pearl.

  Adhere all the pieces with clear Sakura Crystal Lacquer!

Add feathers!!!
