Halloween Fancy Glass Pendant

This weekend we welcomed the lazy rain that fell and the cooler temperatures that came with it. It finally feels like fall here. This weather always makes me think of Halloween. I love decorating not only my house but also my wardrobe for Halloween. This week I wanted to share with you this fast and easy pendant project using Sakura's Retangular Fancy Glass, Gem Particles and 3D Crystal Lacquer!

For this project you will need:
Clip art of your favorite vintage Halloween scene/card [mine is from GraphicsFairy.com]
Cardstock
Brass wire or other finding to turn project into a pendant
velvet ribbon
Rectangular Fancy Glass
Gem Particles
Sakura Hobby Crafts 3D Crystal Lacquer

I printed my images onto heavy white cardstock, sizing them to fit my 1×2" piece of Fancy Glass. I trimmed my "card" so that the top and bottom were flush with the card before adhering it to my background piece.

I added a bead of 3D Crystal Lacquer above and below the "card" so that I could add yummy Peacock Gem Particles to the borders of the image.

Once happy with the placement of the gem particles, I added 3D Crystal Lacquer to the Fancy Glass and pressed it into place. Because the gem particles added a little bulk to the base underneath, I held the glass firmly down by placing a heavy paper punch on it while it dried.

Once dry, I trimmed out the pendant. You could at this point make this a fancy refrigerator magnet by adding a strong magnet to the back. I wanted to wear my beautiful creation so I pulled out some brass wire from my stash and created a simple wired wrapped cage to hold the Fancy Glass and to provide a bail for a ribbon to go through.

Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my project!
