Fall is in the air... all the leaves are turning their fantastic colors of the season! Walking down the street you can hear the rustle of the leaves under foot. Soon the rakes will be out making wonderful piles of leaves to play in. Before long winter will be here!
Today's post is a Fall tree for my table center piece! This was my project for our blog hop last month, I wanted to share incase you missed the hop! I love the colors I was able to get with Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers.
I only had 4 plastic leaves and needed a tree full, what do you do when you need more of something... MAKE MORE! My favorite product I use when I want to make a casting mold Amazing Mold Putty!
I created several molds from the leaves I had. Having several molds made the process go a lot faster. By the time I had the fourth molded the first was just about set enough to remove and start over again. Once I had them molded they set to dry. Once dry clean them up with an emery board and ready for painting.
Now for the fun part. My favorite product I love to use to paint Creative Paperclay® is Sakura Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sproul Mixers. The reason is when I am painting I am also sealing.
The Sakura Crystal Lacquer is a sealer and is a one step painting job. For my leaves I used Citrine Pearl, Rose Pearl and Shimmer Garnet. I love how the colors mixed when I painted the leaves. Let the leaves dry.
Enjoy the season!
Soon winter will be here!
love this tree...
